Efficacy of Ayurvedic medicines mainly depends on the raw material being used. To achieve the optimum results from the medicines and also with an aim of providing authentic and practical knowledge of traditional ayurvedic medicines to students a separate unit has been developed and maintained for the production of quality medicinal plants under the management of Prof. Dr. S. P. Sardeshmukh. The arboretum of medicinal plant species is spread on about 22 acres of land which has more than 200 species. For e.g. Guggul, Kumari (Aloe vera), Vasa etc. The cultivation of pure and excellent quality herbs without using chemical fertilizers is the unique allure of this unit.
This department has taken the number of projects of medicinal plants for educational purpose as well as to fulfill the need of genuine raw material used for preparing the medicines under the Pharmacy of Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust. |

| Medicinal Plant Arboretum to represent different species in the B.A.M.S. curriculum & for the post graduate purpose :- |

| As it is mandatory for the U.G. & P.G. curriculum to establish the medicinal plant arboretum, this department had collected scientifically identified different medicinal plant species. And the full flesh nursery in maintained. The plants were hardened in the nursery for 1 year & then shifted to the garden. Thus Sanjivanee Plantation Unit has established avenues of Neem (1500), Amalika (500), Karanja (500), with the arboretum on the Acres of land with 160 Species. |
